Newport, RI

For our anniversary weekend we took a trip to Newport, RI. Basically it is what you consider a New England harbor town. We stayed at the Mill Street Inn which was a couple of blocks from the main drag where there was plenty of shopping, eating, and just relaxing by the water. Saturday we adventured out to the Cliff walk and mansion tours, this is where all the money is in Newport. We toured the Breakers which was a summer home for the Vanderbilts until the 1940's, it was spectacular! For lunch we ate at ocean cafe and then for dinner we had seafood at the Newport Harbor. It ended up to be a beautiful weekend with lots of sun and wonderful scenery!

Celtics vs. Heat Playoff Game

Surprisingly Cary and I went to the Celtics playoff game against the Heat with Sean. It was game day of decisions! For the both of us it was our first professional basketball game. The ended up beating the Heat to make it to the next round of the playoffs against the Cavs. It was a lot of fun but our seats were a little high, pretty much to the ceiling:) It was a great night with all the Boston fans!

Fenway and the Boston Red Sox

We had another first this past Friday in Boston! We finally went to Fenway Park to watch the Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere of the ballpark is exactly what you picture an old time game being played back in the roaring 20's:) Our seats were in the upper deck on the first baseline and right across from the famous Green Monster. We got to see Ortiz first home run of the season and watch a UC alumni Yuk play first base. This was an amazing experience and look forward to many games at Fenway:)

Boston Marathon

On Patriot's Day I decided to join the crowd and watch the Boston Marathon. June and Zach had a marathon party on the 24 mile where June lives. She decorated her apartment in bright colors and had breakfast for everyone! We could watch the runners from her apartment windows, on the roof, or go down on the street to cheer them on. It was so much fun and very inspirational to see all those marathon runners!

Easter in Boston

Cary and I spent Easter in Boston this year. We went to Easter Mass came home found our Easter basket, colored eggs, went for a walk downtown Melrose, and then had an Easter egg fight. We ended the night with a nice Easter dinner and skype with the Brewer family. It turned out to be a wonderful day even though I had a case of food poisoning the day before. Give me back that filet-o-fish:) Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
